IPSEC VPN Tunnel PING

Site-to-Site VPN Tunnel....Like all others...Tunnel established with all green lights.  Created a packet filter rule which allows any from Internal Network and any from remote network.  Cannot PING destination network .  I have spent numerous hours on the phone with Astaro support but they cannot provide me a reasonable answer as to why the PING will not go through.   I am to the point of attempting to return my 220 for something a little more consistent.

    Hello!

    From where are you pinging? Do you from a local station inside your internal network or from the astaro itself? When pinging from the astaro to a remote network the astaro uses the wrong source-address. Try "ping -I  dst-ip" where  is the internal-network-ip of your astaro and  the destination ip in the remote-net.

    Used ping -i and I continue to receive "Request Timed Out", Used Tracert received one hop to the Astaro 220 and then "Request Timed Out".  I reset the Astaro back to the factory settings and started over with all configurations.  Still no resolution.  

    Settings:
    Defined Remote Gateway and Remote Network
    Red_Oak_Remote_GW - 71.39.122.***
    Red_Oak_Remote_Network - 192.168.4.0

    Created a New VPN Connection with Self created Policy and Remote Key.
    Established connection with remote gateway(double green lights in connection status) with "Auto Packet Filter" ON and "Strict Routing" ON; to allow all traffic through the tunnel (keeping me from having to establish Packet Filter Rules at this time)  Continue to receive "Request Timed Out" when using PING from a Server on the internal network and from the Astaro PING Check.  I have granted access to the device for Astaro support and they continue to be unsuccessful in resolving the issue.  However I can PING up/down the same tunnel established on another router to verify all is working on the other end.

    I feel very comfortable with the Astaro and all of its bells and whistles I just cannot get a handle on the NET to NET VPN PING which I need.  This is just one of five tunnels to remote offices throughout the US.  

    If you feel you can help I will grant you access to the test network to see for yourself.
