VPN to Cisco with Compression?

I tried to get a VPN connection to a Cisco PIX device today with compression enabled, but I found out the hard way that the Cisco only supports LZS compression and Astaro only supports deflate compression.

Anyone have any alternative to getting compression working between the 2? Is LZS compression support planned for Astaro?

LZS is apparently patented, and thus is unlikely to end up in Astaro.

It sounds like, based on this site: http://lists.apple.com/archives/Darwin-kernel/2004/Apr/msg00009.html (found using the google search link provided) that there's little or no cost in actually licensing this algorithm.. I'm sure it's something that could be added to StrongSwan, don't know if it will be though.
