PPTP access, Dropping in Win2k OS, Fine in WinXP

I am testing the Astaro Security Linux for VPN usage over PPTP. I find it does not hold for a fraction of a second when using on any Windows 2k OS m/c, But is fine with Windows XP OS m/c. Please give me some solution, may be tweaking in the registry.

Any help is very much appreciated and thanks in advance.

Are both machines in the same location? Bad WAN Link? Are your client and server settings set to compatible encryption and protocol settings?

The Systems are at different locations, actually laptops. Using dialup internet access, then to VPN.
