VPN client support

If you use the simplest form of VPN, which is PPTP, then you can use the VPN client that is included with Win2K and WinXP.
(Settings --> Network Connections --> New Connection Wizard --> Connect to the network at my workplace)

If you are new to VPN, it is generally best to get a basic VPN connection using PPTP working first, before you try more advanced VPN technologies, such L2TP or IPsec.

You can use Astaro Secure Client which is an OEM product of NCP.

i'll use openswan to connect from my linux box to the ASL

Hi, did you get the openswan  ASL VPN working ? I am trying to set up a openswan  ASL VPN too, but can not get the RSA public key generated by openswan recognized by ASL. Does someone knows how to do that?

i'm pretty interested on how you set openswan as I wasn't able to connect to Astaro. That's the only thing I miss to switch completely to linux as client OS, can you please post your solution?

We have used the ASC client for customer sites, and I think it's overkill for most situations. I don't have a problem with Windows and it's configuration is okay, but since they don't have a multi-platform option, I'd use L2TP over IPSec instead.

It's built into Windows, Mac OS X, it's been relatively easy to support and configure with sales people at customer sites. 

I cannot emphasize the cross-platform nature enough. ASC is a royal pain in cross-platform environments.
