Hi,
we have a rather frustrating issue with one of our ASL Firewalls here at work!
Our company has 3 sites which are interconnected via Site-to-Site IPSec using ASL 5.x .
VPN itself is working fine, but we are experiencing connection problems at one of our sites! Perhaps once or twice a week, the connection between our head branch and this particular site gets lost.
When I try to check the VPN status via the according tab found at "IPSec VPN->Connections" there is an error message displayed which states:
"IPSec kernel module not loaded!"
So I log in to the ASL via ssh and when I check the loaded kernel modules using lsmod, there is no IPSec kernel module to be found!
I can however load the module by hand using modprobe ipsec, but the Status monitor in the ASL Webinterface fails to recognize it somehow, and the IPSec onnection is not automatically re-estasblished.
As soon as I reboot the machine, everything works fine again!
Has anybody else here experienced similar problems, what could possibly cause this behaviour?
