Fragmentation Problem

Hi there...

We have a great problem with our daughter companies Astaro. We have 4 Daughter Companies and they have ASL v5.20x (all the same).

On 3 of 4 DC's we can reach our network can make ping -l 30000 (ping with 30000 Bytes) and they work, but one DC's only accept Ping with 1362 Bytes with > 1362 it will timeout every time...

Someone have a idea what the problem is?

    From the look, I would say, that one hop to the target has an MTU of 1362 byte and he can't or isn't allowd to fragment larger packets. 

    So normaly this is nothing that slower the traffic, because with todays computing power, its not important if you transmit 4 fragments with 1250 byte or one with 5000 byte.

    But one thing i doesnt agree with you:

    We have the following structure...

    Outsourced SAP  Main Company

    DC1  Main Company
    DC2  Main Company
    DC3  Main Company

    From DC1+DC2 i can ping the OS with fragment whatever i want (5000, 10k, 30k, etc.) but only from one DC it doesnt working.

    Last Thursday i have setting up ASL v6.0 in this DC and have the same result. Then i have put the MTU down to 1300 (IPSEC and External) and then it working, but only 2 of 4 SAP Systems -> very unserious...

    I doesnt know, what i can do with this, but now i can ping with max 6322 bytes from this DC, higher will end in a timeout. From all other DC works..
