PPTP Problems

Hi I'm Running Astaro Linux Security V5.  I have a PPTP tunnel from remote hosts (road warriors) to the private network (our local lan)

I can authenticate and connect to it, however I can't access any of my networks shares. 

I tried accesing them by IP but I constanltly get the error message network path no found. 

I tried browsing to network neighbourhood and there is none for the private network....

I can ping each computer on our network by IP and access other IP based services only allowed on our private network.

I think that it's a wins issue, and there is a WINS server running on the private network.  But I don't know how to enable the firewall to allow WINS broadcast through the VPN Tunnel.  

Or if this is even the case.

    You don't need WINS. Browsing for the Windows servers won't work, since ASL drops the Microsoft broadcast packets.

    What does work, is connecting to the Windows share via the IP address.

    Example:  \192.168.123.123\share_name

    perhaps I didn't explain it clearly but I can't access shares by name or IP.

    Are the IP subnet numbers used in the two ends of the VPN tunnel different from each other?

    As an example, trying to route traffic from a 192.168.0.x network to another 192.168.0.x network won't work.
    IP routing only works when the network numbers are not the same.

    Yes I use the PPTP Pool which gives me 10.120.1.X kind of address and the computer I use to test VPN has a 209 address. 

    I remember reading in the Astaro help guide that you were not to use the same address as your internal network.
