VPN Ports

I have Trauma Teams in our regional hospitals. I am working with the IT Staff to determine which ports/protocols they must enable for my Trauma teams to connect via VPN to our network. We are using the Astaro Secure Client 8.12 any guideance on ports/protocols would be greatly appreciated.

    When I established a VPN connection from the internet to my ASL at home I had to open TCP and UDP ports 500 and 4500 to reach the ASL.

    that may help you establish the connecfion, however each port that your programs communicate over will also need to be opened, at least on the astaro side to communicate, route the pptp or ipsec vpn traffic to the main network also. you can try to allow the least possible and open them up on astaro as you go, or open them all (less secure). 
    again, the routing and ports i am talking about is all on the ASTARO box, since the vpn tunnel will contain them all as far as the outside vpn/switch is concerned, you just need to worry about inner-astaro packet filtering.
