Mac os x VPN connect problem

Hi everyone,
I have an L2TP VPN set up and it works fine with the windows XP VPN client. Unfortunately when we try to connect with the Mac VPN client it just sits there trying to connect as if the firewall isn't there. Does anyone have any ideas? I've also tried a PPTP setup too with no luck. I am running V5 astaro fw.

    What version of OSX?
    I have OSX 10.4.2. While at home, I will VPN (PPTP) from the laptop (through ASL 5.206 and v4.x) to an ASL 5.205 at the office just fine. The only problem I've had with it is it dropping connections, but that may be involved with an ASL/Dell hardware problem (see other forum posts by me recently). I haven't had time to figure out why it "just drops" yet, there's no pattern to it, and it could be a lot of different things affecting it. Too early to tell.

    While at work I can also VPN into home via the laptop just the same.

    It's very handy.

    I am experiencing the same problems (OSX disconnecting) on Astaro 6.x, whereas 5.2x was rock sold. This is for both ASG and ASL. I have contacted Astaro support with the logs, however no resolution was found.
