PPTP & conflicting IP networks

I have struggled with this problem for a while and i don't find any real answers to this when i search.

I have salespeople in my organisation that frequently access our network trough PPTP. From time to time they hit a hotel or customer that uses the same ip network  that we do. Our Company uses 192.168.0.0. and a lot of other companies uses the same.

I am not a NAT guru so i think i need some help here. If someone can tell me that it is possible to do this without changing the hole internal network it would be a great help. I talked to a friend and he thought Cisco could do this. We run Astaro V5 by the way.

    Hello,

    you can give your remote salespeople a fix ip-adress other than your 192.168...e.g. 10.74.213.0/24 (PPTP-Pool) during the login.
    and create a static Route PPTP-Pool and you ext. Interface. 

    This must fix your Problem. When your salesman established a VPN, the network on his side or the internet will not be visible for him.

    Thank you for your answer. The PPTP users already get their address from th PPTP Pool. The problem arise when the users connect from a network with the same address at the work. Whenever they try to reach a server on 192.168.1.0 they get no response. 

    I guess i already have s static route PPTP Pool. This does noe prevent packets from going to the local network. Do i have to manually change the IP route table in XP ??

    Hi,

    I would guess so. Didnt play with pptp lately, but I think the local route dose not get deleted by the pptp route if they are in the same subnet. So XP will try to send the packet into the local network instead of the tunnel to your corp network.
    Think there was some trick with the XP-Firewall you could do, but cant remeber, have a look at the ms site.
