The guide really does work! Woot!

I've followed http://docs.astaro.org/howtos/L2TP_Roadwarrior_Guidebook.pdf to the letter. I can connect, everyone says it's happy then I have zero access to the internal network. I can ping the internal side of the firewall, but I can't ping into the network, I can't browse, I can't do anything.

It sounds like this is a fairly common problem. I jumped ship from my last router specifically because VPN didn't work so I'm not a happy camper that this is not working either.

Hi predatorsw,
have you configured packet filter rules wich allow your user to send traffic into your network?
Or did you use the autofilter-funktion?

OK, I fired in a tech request and the response I got was spot on! Thank you Astaro!

I was running both my old firewall and the new astaro firewall into the same network. I was trying to simply mess about some without taking down my entire network in case there were some problems. However, without default routing set to the *new* firewall things simply wouldn't work. Doh!

I get a virtual dope slap for that!

Set default network routing to the new firewall and now I'm the pinging monster. There are some netbios problems, but now that I'm in I can simply mess about with them until I get it right.
