INVALID_ID_INFORMATION

Hi,
I'm trying to set up a VPN with a Nortel Contivity 1700 apliance 
Subnet - ASL ----- Internet ----- Router - Contivity - Subnet
but keep getting this error:
sending notification INVALID_ID_INFORMATION to 148.999.999.999:500
2005:02:23-10:06:40 (none) pluto[21532]: "S_prueba_0" 148.999.999.999 #42: Main mode peer ID is ID_IPV4_ADDR: '10.888.888.888'
2005:02:23-10:06:40 (none) pluto[21532]: "S_prueba_0" 148.999.999.999 #42: we require peer to have ID '148.999.999.999', but peer declares '10.888.888.888'
Someway we are getting its "internal" IP. Can someone help?

    Definitly a problem on the Nortel apllicane. The box sends a wrong id. Have a look in the configuration of your box, The VPN idetifier should be adjustable on the Nortel. The Nortel sends the internal address but your ASL exects the external address.

    hello, 
    i get the same issue with astaro to checkpoint firewall-1 ng R55 site to site VPN.
    the error was on the firewall definition with internal ip by default.
    i change the primary ip definition to my public ip and the issue was resolved.
    perhaps you have the same problem.
    make sure the default ip of your nortel as public ip.

    add this : 
    when astaro made first ipsec connexion to your nortel, it's ask identifier ip (your public ip) but your nortel reply with identifier ip (internal ip) freeswan don't like this. you have to made your nortel reply with identifier (your public ip), for this reason i tell you to do a check on yout default ip on nortel.
