Reserving bandwidth for VPN Tunnel

I know I used to have this feature in ASL 4.x, but can't find it in 5:

Can anyone tell me how I can set up my ASL boxes so that they reserve bandwidth for the VPN tunnel if needed, by giving VPN packets preference over other internet traffic? The idea here is to prevent a large HTTP or FTP download from bringing VPN traffic to a crawl, which it is now doing.

I'm on 5.102, upgrading to 5.103 tonight when everyone's off the VPN.

Have you configured QoS on your WAN interface at all?
Is it just reserving bandwidth for VPN that you are having difficulty with,
or is it the entire intricacy of getting outbound QoS working?

No, it was that I didn't know that QoS was the key. Setting up QoS and then setting my packet filters to give VPN traffic HIGH priority appears to have done the trick.

terminates the asl the vpn or did you use a vpn-router behind the asl? normaly asl sets automatic packetfilter rules for vpn, also for qos iicc. please correct me somebody if its wrong.

No, ASL is the VPN terminator on both ends. It didn't set up anything automatically, and as a result the VPN slowed to a crawl when a large download was being done on one of the networks. The QoS solution did fix this, but it must be implemented manually.
