PPTP Error: Loopback detected after power outage

Very strange things are happening here. After a sudden power outage behind a UPS with dead batteries VPN users cannot connect to the ASL 5.1 box anymore. The windows XP PPTP VPN client returns Error 737: Loopback was detected.

Anyone any ideas of what could be wrong. The system works without any changes flawlessly untill the power outage. I even replaced a nightly backup of last night to make sure nothing changed. If I don't succes on finding the error I will reinstall 5.1 from CD tommorrow.

    If you find a solution, please let the rest of us know. I have the same problem. Restart ASL, turning PPTP off and on again doesn't help. Mine just happend during the day.

    Backup,  re-installed it to 5.100 then restored fixed the problem for now. Can't figure out what caused the problem. Didn't take it back to 5.101, as the problem accured a couple of days after the 5.101 patch. Don't really know if that is the problem, but will run on 5.100 for now, and see if i get the problem or not.
