Problems after disconnecting VPN

Hi,

I have a winxp box with a ADSL modem at home from which i VPN to an 5.023 astaro box in the office via PPTP.

The VPN tunnel is established correctly and i am able to stay connected to office for a long time upto (one hour) ....

WHEN I DISCONNECT THE VPN on the WINXP box THE WINXP box loses connection to the internet and the connection tray hangs and i am not able to reconnect... i have to hard reset the WINXP to get internet to work normally...

However i am able to disconnect the VPN properly if i do it within the first 3 mins of connecting the tunnel... Even the internet conenction is restored...

If anyone has solved such a problem please let me know how...

Which XP do you use? Home or Pro? Which Service-Pack?

I use XP Pro and SP1 and it works fine. I'm using "regular" VPN connection without IPsec.

Using Windows XP Pro with SP1,I have a multiboot and i have found the same problem with Win2k pro SP4 and windows 2003 enterprise ... and all are running all the latest windows updates (except XP i have not installed SP2) ....
