PPTP (5.0.22) and microsoft.com/amazon.com

Not sure when things broke on our end with Astaro updates, but users are now complaining that they can't get to microsoft.com or amazon.com when using PPTP. It appears to affects Windows XP only, and perhaps its simply SP2 (waiting further clarification). I was wondering if others with Astaro 5.0.22 and Windows XP clients can get to microsoft.com and amazon.com. Going to msn.com through a microsoft.com redirect seems to work, so I'm wondering if its simply a matter of MTU headroom running out in XP SP2.

    If you re using ASL vpn connector they put out a mass email saying do not upgrade to xp sp2 if you are using the ASL vpn client.

    We have had problems as well  while running ASLv5 with all Up2Dates applied. If we use the HTTP proxy in transparent mode we can get to most web sites, but cannot connect to web servers on our internal LAN. If we turn the HTTP proxy off, we can get to the internal servers, but cannot get to many web-sites.

    Astaro suggested reducing the MTU, and then said that the latest Up2Date would fix it, but neither seem to have made any difference.

    I am now trying with the HTTP proxy in standard mode, but am not sure how to specify the HTTP proxy for PPTP users.

    We tested both SP1 and SP2 last I checked. It affects both systems.

    We are just using PPTP. More so, the clients last I checked are both SP1 and SP2, so its a general problem with PPTP and these sites.
