Basic VPN Question

Hello
If i configure a VPN tunnel between 2 networks - is ist necessary to specify on each network a different IP Range?
-- So i cant connect two 192.168.1.0/24 Networks????

Thanks  Medic

  • Medic,

it is not possible to connect two networks with the same IP-Range over a VPN. If a IP exists two times, the firewall or client does not know where to send the packtes. If you have no equal ip addresses but the same network, you can enable Proxy arp on both firewalls. That should work.
