Why does win2000 PPTP client cause ERR 619?

Hi All,

I have setup a Astaro 3.2 as a PPTP server for "road warriors",when the  windows 2000(SP3) as a client to connect  it, i always get the error 619 in windows 2000.

And i viewed the logs in Astaro 3.2 like following:

pppd 2.4.0 started by (unknown), uid 0
 pppd[7523]: Using interface ppp0
 pppd[7523]: Connect: ppp0  /dev/ttyp0
pppd[7523]: No CHAP secret found for authenticating UATEK\test_ho on pptp, trying aua with MS-CHAP
aua[7538]: U:UATEK\test_ho F[:P]ptp R[:D]ENY
pppd[7523]: aua denied access

Why does this happen? how should i do?

Any suggestion and help are appreciated.

Regards,
Leland

  • damned, I know the problem is related to the username 'UATEK\test_ho', try to get rid of the domain portion - sorry but I do not rememeber how - hopefully others do.

Not very helpful but maybe a hint
