I am doing a test of ASL to use it on our corporate network to replace the bordelManger systems.
After installing the SSH Sentinel 1.4.1.b79 (evaluation) on my test machine and rebooting, no networking function works any more: Anything IP-based fails on all local interfaces (ethernet, WIFI, VMWare networks) nothing works, not even loopback ping.
Uninstalling the package restores the system to it's initial state.
the machine and components that might be problematics:
Dell Inspiron 9100
Windows XP Pro SP1a with all current patches (English)
Rainbox iKey 2000 USB security token drivers
eAladdin eToken USB security token drivers
Novell VPN client 3.7.1 (without the Novell network client)
Custom compile of the ssleay32.dll and libeay32.dll libraries are present in the system folder.
Before somebody ask, all these subsystems are necessary except the custom OpenSSL libraries.
What could be the cause of this and, more important, what do I need to do to fix the problem.
