IPSec VPN to Cisco 1751 Router problems

Hi,

I'm having some issues trying to configure a VPN connection to a Cisco 1751 router. Despite trying to match up every possible setting correctly at both ends they just don't seem to want to communicate. The connection is a standard ESP Tunnel using PSK, 3DES, MD5..

The VPN Status looks like this:
000 #7235: "VPN_1" STATE_QUICK_I1 (sent QI1, expecting QR1); EVENT_RETRANSMIT in 8s
000 #7232: "VPN_1" STATE_MAIN_I4 (ISAKMP SA established); EVENT_SA_REPLACE in 85454s; newest ISAKMP

and an extract of the Live Log contains:
"VPN_1" #7232: ignoring Vendor ID payload [03008e2909dfdd12...]
"VPN_1" #7232: ignoring Vendor ID payload [Cisco-Unity]
"VPN_1" #7232: ignoring Vendor ID payload [XAUTH]
"VPN_1" #7232: received Vendor ID payload [Dead Peer Detection]
"VPN_1" #7232: ISAKMP SA established
"VPN_1" #7232: Main mode peer ID is ID_IPV4_ADDR: 'xxx.xxx.xx.xxx'
"VPN_1" #7232: ignoring informational payload, type NO_PROPOSAL_CHOSEN
"VPN_1" #7232: received and ignored informational message
"VPN_1" #7233: initiating Quick Mode PSK+ENCRYPT+TUNNEL
"VPN_1" #7232: ignoring informational payload, type NO_PROPOSAL_CHOSEN
"VPN_1" #7232: received and ignored informational message
"VPN_1" #7233: max number of retransmissions (2) reached STATE_QUICK_I1.  No acceptable response to our first Quick Mode message: perhaps peer likes no proposal
"VPN_1" #7233: starting keying attempt 2 of an unlimited number
"VPN_1" #7234: initiating Quick Mode PSK+ENCRYPT+TUNNEL to replace #7233

and so on..
If anyone has any ideas what the problem might be  I would be very grateful. The ASL Version is 4.020.

Regards,
Fred.
