VPN: GRE packet blocked

Hello!

I have a question about Vpn.

I have an astaro box with PPTP vpn enabled that works great.

The problem is that one of my client has a natted internet connection and the provider router does not allow nat of Gre packet.

Is there any way to make a vpn connection with UDP or TCP packet?

    Your client will probably have to use an IPsec or L2TP VPN connection to get around the problem with the GRE port block on the PPTP connection. If your ASL box is running v4 or older, then L2TP is not available, so IPsec becomes the only alternative.

    IPsec and L2TP use different ports than PPTP for the connection, so unless their ports are also being blocked by the provider, they make a viable alternative.

    But it is a bit more work to configure these alternatives, especially to get IPsec working. The main reason that PPTP is such a popular way to establish a VPN, is that it is very easy to get working.

    Ok, thanks! i was thinking to IPSec too.

    Only a question, do you know if Windows2000 and Xp has a native IPSEC client or if i must buy some software?

    Windows 2k and XP has a IPSec/L2TP client native... Win9x/Me you can download a client at microsofts web

    Ok, I tried to connect Xp client with Astaro v3.2 Ipsec but until now no good result....

    do you know if there is a guidebook? or something?
