Pocket Pc PPTP VPN

I am trying to make a pptp vpn connection from a  Pocket Pc (2002 or 2003) device to an ASL V5 firewall. I have pptp working on the ASL firewall, I can make a vpn connection from a Windows XP or Win2k computer. However when I try to connect from a Pocket Pc, it says

"VPN server problems. Verify your username and password, and try again. If the problem continues, turn the device off and try again."

Any help would be great.

    I've the same problem. It seems that my Astaro is correctly configured and my PocketPC is also correct configured. Could be there a handshake problem between them?

    Someone solved this problem already?

    I got the problem and looking the PPTP log at ASTARO I saw that PocketPC and the ASTARO doesn't agree on the MPPE protocol. The difference with the XP VPN client as an example is that you can activate the option "Encryptation Required Drop if server doesn't accept" (or similar... I'm translating from spanish) BUT in the PocketPC VPN client there is no way to force the client to "Encryptation required".

    Now... I'm still working in this problem but the possible solutions are:

    a) What other user told you... use pre-shared keys. I never try this but looks like being the quickest solution.

    b) Using another VPN client at PocketPC that allows you to change that parameter. I couldn't find one yet.

    c) I was told that is possible to force the VPN built-in client on PocketPC to "Encryptation Required" by entering the Registry on the PocketPC and changing something. Now... to enter Registry you need to install a program called PHM (or PMH) Registry on PocketPC. I did it. BUT I don't know what to change YET. I'm trying to contact the person who gave me the information without success at the microsoft.pocketpc forums on the USENEWS (my nick there is Fidelio), but I couldn't get an answer.

    That's all. I think I'm going to try IPSec pre-shared keys... but not sure if I will be able to make it run.

    I am having the same issue with multiple POCKETPC or Windows Mobile devices using both PPTP or LT2P over IPSEC.  Nobody seems to know a fix for this isssue.
