5.001 L2TP not working

I tried L2TP tunneling.
I didn´t get a connection with my windows XP.
No log entries in IPSEC logfiles.

I tried it with a direct Acor connection without firewall.

This thread was automatically locked due to age.

same here.

with win2000 and the fix-pack and a small how-to it works.
with xp i won't get a connection.

Under win2k3 I tried to L2TP to ASL 5.001

Dialog immediately pops up saying I need a certificate and I don't have installed.

So I generated a cert on ASL 5.001 and downloaded and installed it, tried again, same thing.

Gonna read the manual now but I thought this would work as is without further setup ?
