Netgear FVS318 with a T-DSL Flatrate

Hi ppl,

we've got an ASL v4 here running with a leased line very fine and want to connect some remote users via VPN. Therefore we've got the Netgear FVS318 to connect to ASL.

It's connecting fine and the VPN works good - for just 12 hours.

After that I have to manually "restart" the VPN connection by de- and reactivating it.

Does anyone have some experiences with this?

    Hi wavehopper,
    T-DSL Flat doesn't mean it is up all the time.
    I know T-Com resets the connection at least every 24 hours.
    In 2001 this was fact. I think it is the same today.

    What's your configuration in Detail?
    You can do a VPN-Connection (IPSEC) with at least one permanent IP-Address for you (at one location). 
    Search the UBB for threads in this issue.
    Another possibility is using the PPTP RoadWarrior.
    Also do a search for this please, I have no experience with ASL+PPTP.

    ASL doesn't recognize the restart of DSL. Lower the IPSec Lifetime. Evertytime the Lifetime expires, the ASL will recognize that DSL isn't there and will reconnect.

    or just connect DSL by using the ASL instead of a external router.
