Ok. I'm running ASL 4.016 with a static external ip and two other nics (internal and dmz). Created vpn connection to access my network(s) whilst on the road but am having troubles o' plenty.
If I use IKE Config on the VPN client and set the Local Subnet to Internal_network and don't set a virtual IP for the remote key on the ASL box, then I can connect via vpn but I can only ping hosts on the "internal_network" segment. Not only that but using IKE config I am looking to the dns servers of my ISP instead of the internal dns servers when connected to vpn ... this is a problem.
Now if I choose to assign a virtual ip to the client on the ASL box that matches the internal_net scheme, I can ping but only on the same subnet.
If I assign a virtual ip that is not part of any local networks that are known to the ASL box, and set a corresponding ip address on the client, I cannot connect but the diagnostics of Sentinel show that all is well and that I should be able to connect.
