Just updated to 4.017 and my rudimentary PPTP test from my macosx box worked like a charm, albeit that the pptp IP pairs (say x.y.z.65 and x.y.z.68) were not contiguous addresses as they have always been. The Mac correctly sets up the pptp link, with two IPs for each end. Also, the subnet mask is 255.255.0.0. On Windows 2000 and XP, the pptp link as reported by ipconfig shows that both endpoints have the same IP address and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.255. This goes far to explain why no traffic gets beyond the Astaro VPN server. Anyone else already experiencing this? I basically have a broken VPN server on a Friday afternoon without any "simple" means to revert to 4.016 because this is an HA configuration and its also mission critical for other tasks..
Please tell me that others are seeing this and its not just me
the way it looks on Red-Man's box is the way it is supposed to be. So you are saying it looks like that in your case but no traffic can be passed by the Astaro? What does your packet filter say? Can you see dropped packets in the live log?
