Searched and read through a number of posts, with no change in results. Via a PPTP connection, I want to map a network drive on the local machine.
I can ping both the netbios and local-network dns names for the server. I can open the server's web page via spec'ing the netbios and local dns names.
When attempting to map using the netbios name both via command line and gui, I get an error. The command line error is "System error 59..." If I use the IP addy, I get System error 53. If I use the local DNS name, I also get System error 53. Connecting the same computer on the LAN (not through VPN), I can map via all methods. Desired server is in the DMZ, although I see similar results when attempting to map LAN resources.
I have masq rules from PPTP pool to all networks.
There is no WINS server (and I do not want to do one if possible). I can't see the forest for the trees right now, so let me know the obvious piece I'm missing.
