PPTP Passthrough

Hello everybody,

I´m using astaro 4 and i am also running an windows 2000 vpn server inside my network. now i am trying to passthrough the pptp praffic. but the login is not working. has anyone an idea how to solve the problem? ist that an astaro bug? i dont want to use the astaro in build pptp server. 
perhapes the inside server is working by using L2TP? has anyone any experiences ?

    This configuration works without problems! Just DNAT service PPTP to your internal W2K server (and adjust packet filter rules accordingly).

    Hi Herb,

    have you already tried this? i configured all the same way you explained it. but the whole thing is NOT working. i get errors by checking the username and password. then the connection hangs up!

    so i think it ist not working...

    I tried it too and it didn't work; called Astaro and they said it is not supported (yet?). There was another post where I was making suggestions as to what might be altered under the hood to get it to work...

    SecApp had good suggestions for getting PPTP Passthrough to work but unfortunately they did not work on 4.015.  I have given up trying to pass PPTP/GRE and L2TP/IPsec through ASL; it just doesn't work.  As far as it not being supported, well, That's not what I see on their product fact sheet.  But oh well.

    it definetly works for us, configured the way I explained. But I do have to add that this is with 4.016, I never tested before (there are a lot of changes to PPTP)!

    Hi alltogether,

    the PPTP issues are fixed in version 4.016 (available as ISO only at the moment).

    Yeah, or I used IAS to act as radius server for Astaro. Then used Astaro PPTP. Kind of works as if it was Windows due to the credentials being the same... till it broke.. now on 4.0.16 with same config. I gave up on passthrough at the time.
