Exchange timeout request via VPN.

I have users accessing their mail through VPN. They are using exchange/outlook. I am constantly getting exchange timeout requests. Everything else seems ok. Any ideas?????????

    same here. Are your clients connected via DSL? If yes the problem could be related to the mtu size. I had to decrease the mtu on the outlook client  to 1200 (only exchange and outlookseem to be affected). 
    There is an interesting article from cisco, explaining why and presenting a link to Dr. TCP.

    Another possibility is a wrong mtu size at the pppoe interface of the firewall. ISPs may override the standard value which is 1492 by 1500. In this case some patchwork has to be done. You could add 'mtu 1492' on top of /var/chroot-pppoe/etc/ppp/options to force 1492 bytes mtu.
