PPTP - one w2k client can connect but another cant

Hi,

Here's a wierd one...

I've got one windows2000 laptop connecting fine as a PPTP client (default VPN settings) with the server set up for 128-bit encryption.

However, another cannot connect - comes back with the local error: "Error 742. Remote computer does not support the required data encryption type." On the Astaro log, I'm getting:

Jul 11 14:14:57 asl pppd[22998]: CHAP peer authentication succeeded for
Jul 11 14:14:57 asl pppd[22998]: MPPE required but peer negotiation failed
Jul 11 14:14:57 asl pptpd[22996]: CTRL: Ignored a SET LINK INFO packet with real ACCMs!
Jul 11 14:14:57 asl pppd[22998]: Connection terminated.

Which looks like the client will only do 40bits.

Now, if I reduce the Astaro's encyption level to 40bit, then it'll work fine - but I want it up to 128 bits for XP clients.

Both of the w2k clients are using the same modem dialup ISP.

Any thoughts on what may be up?

Thanks
