HELP! PPTP doesn't work anymore!

You may try to start daemon with -D option, then it should work - ti require the stdin or tty - its a bug I suppose  

which daemon? pptpd do not have -D option, only -d.
that's for debug, it doesn't help.

THanks for the update.  now, for a somewhat newbie, how would I copy this patch to the firewall without the web interface?  I can make an SSH connection, but I cannot transfer a file to it as the session is denied.  Is there an fTp client on the ASL?

to /tmp or to /home/login.

Thanks.  Any reason why F-Scure SSH version 5.2 Build 36 doesn't work? 

I have copied the package over to my ASL device.  I unpacked the files, and ran ./replace_pptp.sh.  I got three error messages:

iptables_nat: Device or resource busy
ip_conntrack:  Device or resource busy
ip_tables:  Device or resource busy

The restart of MiddleWare succeded.  Should I be concerned with the three messages I got from above? 

Are you root? Try "su"!

Hi Chris,

somehow the modules could not be unloaded. If you get error messages like that, you need to restart your machine. After that the new modules should work fine.

you get these error messages if you pick the wrong user name/password. The CHAP authentication failed. The error message looks similar to the one that leads to "error 619", but it's a different cause. Could you check your setup ?

As well, thanks.  I am able to connect the first time, but I get the following message from the client:

TCP/IP CP Reported error 52:  Duplicate name on the network.

This is not true.  Unfortunately, I didn't get the PPTP Log when the connection attempted, as I'm not on site where the firewall is.  I will post back later tonight with the PPTP Log.

aside from the error message, does the PPTP connection work fine ?
The message you get may indicate that the machine has more than one interface connected to the same physical wire. This causes problems with the Windows name service. Could this be the trouble in your case ?

Unfortunately, no.  I'm not connecting to the PPTP service from the same logical location as the ASL.  I was connecting to the ASL from my office, where my ASL device is at home.
