Astaro<->SnapGear VPN tunnel

Just wanted to know if somebody could confirm the ability to establish a permanent VPN tunnel between the two networks, one served by Astaro 3.218 and second one served by SnapGear SME530. My attempts to connect Astaro 3.218 with Symantec Firewall/VPN 100 failed miserably and I'm thinking of dumping Symantec in favor of SnapGear, but I'd like to be on the safe side and know that somebody has it working in a similar config before I go ahead with the purchase.

    from my personal Astaro minded point of view you should
    get version 4 and install Astaro Security Linux on both sides

    i would certainly prefer such solution as well, but we're really tight on space at our colocation and only an appliance-sized device will do at this point. i was looking for astaro-powered appliances in the same US$360 price range to no avail, so SnapGear is an option on the table.

    Will it work though? [:)]

    Hi there, 

    ASL and SnapGear are working nicely together,
    we have several Customers using SnapGear on the SOHO side.

    Thanks, Gert. Appreciate the feedback. I just ordered my SME530, hopefully things will work just fine.
