Vlan and virtual machines

I have som experience in firewalling and virtualizing.   At the moment I have juts had a brief look tru the features in the astato command line, and i do not seem to vind the VCONFIG tool which are offered, for example in Debian.   I would like to run the astaro firewall in a virtual environment, and in theory, i see no reason it should not support this kind of environment.

Does anyone have views or experiences running vlan subinterfaces?   and have anyone med MTU problems doing this.

kind regards
