PPTP: Can't get access to my hard drives

Strange things happen [:)]
Connecting to Astaro is one thing, getting access to my hard drives the other.

Connection from W2K via PPTP to Astaro is no problem at all -- log on and authentification are ok -- but when I try to connect to hard drives on my server, I only recieve an error message (German: Keine Anmeldeserver zur Verfügung). Funny thing is, that when starting Outlook I do have access on my mailbox.
Ping is ok to all servers in the network.

How are your trying to connect to your hard drives ?

I assume you have shared a folder/drive ?

I'm trying to connect to shared drives using a simple logon script, containing dos commands as ' net use'

You're net use script, do you use Netbios names or the server IPs??

What i found out is that i have to turn ICMP forwarding on in Packet filter, and connect to the internal IPs after logon...

Example:
net use h: \192.168.0.5\share

Make sure you have designated a WINS server in you PPTP setup. Make sure you can ping by Netbios name. If not try setting a manual WINS address on the client. If you are running MS AD you will need to have the client use the AD DNS server as the first DNS Server
