I am trying to set up an IPSEC VPN from my notebook running gentoo linux to my ASL4 firewall, I am expriencing the same problems I did with V3.2 here are the symptoms:
- I configre 2 connection on laptop they are identical except for IP one has internal LAN IP of firewall the other the external domain name.
- When I dialout the external VPN works fine, but I can not gewt samba to work? Do I need to specify any special rules? The laptop is assigned the IP on the same subnet as internally (where samba works). I can ping and ssh into machines on LAN at this point.
- When I am on my wireless network I initiaaite the tunnel to the firewall via the local IP. The connection is said to be successful yet nothing works! I even lose internet access to the outside (which works before VPN attempt). I would think its something with the laptop's routes, but the only way to fix this problem is to restart the Firewall (nothing is needed to be changed on the laptop). Other compouters on the LAN can still access the internet.
By the way my 'live logs' on VPN show absolutely nothing. The only way I can see what's going on is when I reload the IPSEC page on webadmin.
