PPTP & HTTP

okay I followed the PPTP doc found here;

I have a packetfilter rule

PPtP Pool  any   any  allow

now when i connect to the server i can ping all the computers on the network etc...but i cannot get http access

http is checked off under definitions users for the user is connecting under this pptp connection...

ideas anyone??

    so i figured...let me set up the broadest rule possible and then from their ill figure out where the issue lies...right?

    so i set a packetfilter rule any any any allow

    then i get this

    I only you broadcasting netbios where is your DNS on port 53? and the port 80 conn meaning your browser was trying to get to the net?

    When you say HTTP do you mean you cannot surf the web????.....this would be because while you are connected through the VPN tunnel.....you have a different default gateway....you need to go to the properties of the vpn tunnel

    double click on the vpn tunnel icon......before you click connect.....click on the properties tab.....click on the networking tab.....highlight the TCP/IP setting and click properties.....click the advanced tab...under the general tab....unclick the "use default gateway on remote network" tab.....click ok three times and then connect as normal.....you should be able to access vpn resources and surf the net

    the other thing you can do is leave it checked but you would have to add the DNS server of your remote network and you would also be able to surf the web....
