Pre-config question: static IP pool?

Hello,

I am running ASL 3.209 and want to enable VPN. I am not using NAT or DHCP on ASL, the internal network is based on a registered address block.

Do I have to create a small subnet and define it in order to have asl assign IPs to incoming VPN connections? Is it possible to create a VPN login with static IPs?

I have not set a VPN up before and I am trying to keep it as simple as possible.

    can you give a bit more detail:

    1: when you say set up VPN....do you mean Host to ASL or ASL to ASL

    2: Do you wish to use IPsec....or PPTP

    3: can you give a diagram of your current setup

    example:
     Internal network>>>>>Asl>>>>>Internet>>>>>>Host
