ASL to PIX 515 Please Help

I have setup a vpn from asl 3.2 to pix 515.

The tunnel looks fine with no errors in the logs at both ends.

10.1.0.0/24 -> 172.31.1.0/24 => tun0x1004@217.205.42.189

but I cannot seem to get any information though the tunnel.
I have enabled ICMP but I cannot ping either way.

Please can somebody help with this problem.

did you allow ICMP forward on the Astaro and also set a packet filter rule on the PIX for that?

Both are set to accept ICMP.

I still cannot ping out from the ASL firewall to the pix.

Could this be an iptables issue?

What about the routing issues ??
Is routing configured propperly ?
PS. do a traceroute and see where tings stop..
