I have some experince with Raptor (with RaptorMobile) and Checkpoint (with SecuRemote).
These solutions work really good, allthough they seem to be a bit to pricy for a lot of my costumers, and I have been looking at Astaro as a better cost-benefit product.
Please help me by telling me, if I can use Astaro in this scenario:
1) The company LAN needs to be securely protected by the (Astaro) firewall.
2) Remote clients needs to connect to the LAN via various connecitions, that is dial-up (via celular phones and normal modems), adsl, cable... Some are NAT'ed, others have public, direct addresses. They need access to variuos services on the LAN behind the firewall.
3) Remote clients needs to connect with software VPN - with IPsec and a preshared key. Preferably with built-in win2k functionallity. If it is not possible to use the built-in VPN in win2k, is it then possible to use a secure, free one which meets my requirements, or do we have to buy, say, SSH Sentinel? Software has to be easy to handle and setup (like RaptorMobile and SecuRemote). End users should be able to set up their client VPN themself. No "tweakin' win2k".
4) site-to-site VPN with firewall not necceseraly Astaro on "the other side" with IPSec/IKE.
5) Setup has to be stable.
Shall I give Astaro a try?
Regards, Lars
