Windows IPSEC Client?

Greetings,

I am trying to find out if I can install something on a 2000 or XP client machine that will allow me to connect to an Astaro IPSEC VPN.

I have done some research and found that they only support L2TP natively.

Are there free applications for doing this?

not quite free but the SSH client should fit your needs. There is also the OpenSSH client for windows (which is free) however I wasnt thrilled with the config or interface.

W2K Server supports PSK and X509 also.

OpenSSH clients can connect to IPSEC VPNs?

Are you sure about that?

well I have an x509 IPSec VPN connection to an Astaro security linux 3.2 box using SSH Sentinel version 1.3.2 and it works well.....Quite a bit more to configure compared to PPTP and Astaro...but it does work well...so I guess the answer to your question would be YES
