ipsec roadwarrior to dynamic dns

i am trying to setup a roadwarrior connection between two dynamic ip address. 

I have closely followed the directions as outlined here; http://www.astaro.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=7;t=000358

My astaro firewall has its ip listed with a dynamic dns service. Thus making it kinda static...

anyway i am using the very latest ssh for my clients (i just downloaded build 2...came out a few days ago last night)

I simply cannot get the connection to work!!

Has anyone setup this type of connection and if so can u give me any advice?

PS my clients directly connect to the net with a cable modem service...they are not behind any kind of NAT devices...in case any of you were wondering about that

    I also have a dynamic address from my service provider for my firewall gateway.....after some playing around with configuration, I am able to establish a connection and transfer data...I have the configuration I used typed up in a word document with screen shots....its kinda big (2.8 Mbytes) but if you want you can email me at

    ohh yah baby...works like a charm.....beautiful!!

    I dont know how to thank you enough...after two weeks i am up and running....how sweet it is!!

    I just have a few questions now concerning the ipsec protocol

    1) I know that with my pptp connection I cannot browse the network neighborhood...is this possible with an ipsec connection?
    2) why do people prefer ipsec over pptp?
    3) i also noticed that if I try to use ssh behind a NAT device it wont work but if i try and connect when I am directly connected to the modem it works fine..is there anyway to fix this...additionally when i setup the remote users if they are on a small peer to peer network how would u suggest i setup their network for them (internet wise) to allow them to vpn into the astaro firewall, and all connect to the internet at the same time?!

    that seems like enough questions for now....

    PS it also seems like the ipsec connection is faster then the pptp...is this so or is this just my imagination??
