Change ipsec.conf default Setings

Hi to all,

working to setup a Net-to-Net connection wit ASL and CP-FW1 4.1 at the other side, i have to change some defaults in the ipsec.conf. When I changed the setings and do a stop-start of the service in the Webadmin my changes in ipsec.conf are reset to the former default values.

What to do that my changes stay as new defaults?

    I didn´t get it
    Why do you change the ipsec.conf on console
    and then restart WebAdmin.
    I wonder, because the ipsec.conf is one automatic, but you can add ipsec-tunnels manually.
    you can add ipsec-tunnels in Webadmin easier.The system then will change the ipsec.conf automatically.

    Hi aad,

    tnx for your reply. I don't want to setup the VPN to the console. I configure the stings with the Webadmin but for a connection with checkpoint FW i have to change some default values that can't be configured via the webadmin!

    Shure, i can do the restart on console,too. But i wonder when i changed the ipsec.conf via console and restart it later via webadmin that all my changes are lost.

    Therefor I like to know what to do that my changes stays after a restart via webadmin.

    to change values edit your ipsec.conf and copy your tunnel that must already exist below
    #If you want to add additional ipsec tunnels...
    After that change the values, then delete the copied tunnel above and save.
    Otherwise when you try to change default tunnel the ipsec.conf-default will overwrite it.
