Changing the lifetimes and Using 3des-md5

Hi i have a vpn which i need to change the key lifetime on and use 3des-md5, But when i edit the ipsec.conf and restart the vpn, it over write the file, is there anyway of setting this with the webAdmin or stoping it changing the ipsec.conf?

hi there,

why don't you use the latest Version 3.0xx there you can specify the lifetimes using the WebAdmin Interface.

As far as I know, md5 and sha1 are both hardcoded in the freeswan sources, it proposes both, and the opposite side should decide which hash alg to take.
