I can't ping in roadwarrior

Hi people,
I have got installed the ASL 2.016 with upgrades ( 2.023 )

All is ok. I can access from my internal LAN ( one PC W2K Pro ) to Internet and from Internet to my LAN. I use a 3com 812 with an ADSL ( 256K )connection for that.

I configured DNAT from External NIC -> LAN
and Mascarading from LAN -> External NIC
Packet Filter: any any any allow ( I know I'm mad )
IPsec configuration exatly the Astaro Howto.

Now I'm trying to do a VPN connection from a PC W98 Toshiba notebook with a US Robotics Sportster Winmodem PC card modem 33 MHz

I've installed in my noteboot the PGPnet 7.0.4 evaluation 30 days software to be able to do IPsec VPN connections.

After configuring PGPnet, I can connect with my LAN, I think ( I get the two green points in the window of the PGP status ), but I cannot do a ping to my host in the LAN ( 192.168.2.2 ) from my notebook.

I've read "The Astaro Security Linux VPN Howto" a lot of times and I also have read this forum, but I haven't found the solution yet.

Have I to configure my notebook with its own IP ( 192.168.2.3 )and default gateway ( Firewall gateway )? How ? If I do it, I cannot connect my modem to my IPS provider.

Please, where is my mistake ?

    Hi Jaume,

    *if* you would configure your notebook with a private LAN address, it would have to be another subnet, not the same - so 192.168.2.x is a bad idea; it would have to be 192.168.3.x (or something else).

    But this shouldn't be necessary, if in the IPSEC-settings you allow ANY to connect.

    The problem is that I cannot configure my notebook with a private LAN address because I have to configure it with the DNS of my ISP to be able to connect my notebook to internet by modem.
    If I configure the TCP/IP protocole with a private address I cannot connect to internet by modem.

    What is the solution ?
