Client behind Linux-masq can't connect to PPTP

Hi,

I have set up an Astaro-server with PPTP functionalities.

If I try to connect as illustrated below, the connection fails (619: Port not connected)

W2K Pro [192.168.10.x]-->Linux ipmasq [192.168.10.1/public ip.x]====>Astaro[public ip.y/192.168.1.1]

If i instead give my Win2K-machine a public IP, for instance [public ip.z] the connection is established without problems. 

Any clues? I think it must have something to do with the linux ipmasq-box - just don't know exactly where to start..

    You must recompile your kernel with PPTP Masquerading support for GRE or install a kernel patch/install a module. GRE stands for Generic Routing Encapsulation and it is a protocol require by PPTP. With your current configuration, you only support TCP data to port 1723 and GRE does not get routed to your ASL box.

    Here's a link for a startup. I suggest you search the web for "PPTP Masquerading" + your Linux distribution
