I have been getting an odd message these past couple of days from my Astaro VPN. We're using it for PPTP 40bit, and a variety of platforms and connection types. I personally have tried from a Covad DSL connection, PacBell DSL connection, AOL (UGH!), and Mindspring. All with the same results. Can anyone help me out on this?
The topography is this: Internet -> Router -> Switch
The switch goes to the main firewall and to the astaro firewall/router.
This configuration has been tooling along quite happily for some time now. Can anyone help me with this?
On WinXP:
Error 737: Loopback was detected
Clicking on "More info" reveals:
The local and remote computers that are involved in the ppp conversation are the same computer. This usually means that a device (for example, a modem) on the link is echoing characters back. Try resetting these devices.
For other servers from other vendors, it may indicate that the remote computer is attempting a teletypwriter (tty) logon before connecting. You can configure the connection for a post connect terminal on the security tab.
The other platforms offer me messages close to that.
