PPTP Drops Connections After a couple of hours?

I have the PPTP Roadwarrior setup (until I can find a decent and cheap IPSec client for winders).

Everyone comes in and logs on fine.. works well.. people can browse the net and everything (fairly impressed to that point). The the worst thing happens: The Users are Unceremoniously dropped.

No warning, no nothing.. just boom! dropped.

Any ideas?

Hi there,

yes this can be if the connection between the client and the astaro is not 100% good and some packets get dropped during transit the firewall thinks the line is gone and resets the connection.

You can change this setting in /var/chroot-pptp/etc/ppp/options-default

double or better tripple the values of the lcp-echo-failure and lcp-echo-interval and the disconnection should disappear
