PPTP Strip Domain..

Hi Astaro..

Well when i login to a Astaro Firewall from a Win9x workstation it includes the Domain name in the Username for authendication to the firewall like this..

Oct 5 17:26:41 firewall pppd[17942] ppd 2.4.0 started by (unknown), uid 0
Oct 5 17:26:41 firewall pppd[17942]:Using interface ppp0
Oct 5 17:26:41 firewall pppd[17942]:Connect: ppp0  /dev/ttyp0
Oct 5 17:26:44 firewall pppd[17942]:No CHAP secret found for authenticating AKTIV\hre on pptp, trying aua with MS-CHAP
Oct 5 17:26:44 firewall pppd[17942]:aua denied access

Where AKTIV\ is the domain and hre is the user..

Thats ok, if it's posible to add a username with "\" signs in.. NOT posible..

There is a strip domain name patch for poptop PPPT.. Please apply it..

    Hi Exiof,

    maybe u should try dropping one of youre backslashes - the normal notation is domain\username.

    the double \ is produced by pppd, so it is ok.

    There are some problems with MPPE (the encryption setup) when the username differs on the server, since it is used for setting up the encryption keys.

    I'll try to tackle the problem in another way.
