pptp network browsing

I get the following in packet filter log when logging into my astaro 2 box:
21:43:26 192.168.2.210 137  ->  192.168.2.255 137 UDP  
21:43:26 192.168.2.210 137  ->  192.168.2.255 137 UDP  
21:43:26 192.168.2.210 137  ->  192.168.2.255 137 UDP  
21:43:26 192.168.2.210 137  ->  192.168.2.255 137 UDP  
21:43:27 192.168.2.210 137  ->  192.168.2.255 137 UDP 

denied broadcasts, and I can not see any of the network not even by ip. But I can ping anything on the netwrok by ip.

I have the following rule installed:
192.168.2.210 { netbios } Any Allow

Suggestions?

    Hi jallen, 

    yes 

    define a network

    Internal Broadcast 192.168.2.255 255.255.255.255

    and add a rule

    192.168.2.210 { netbios } Internal Broadcast  Allow

    The problem is that your rule end up in the forwarding chain and the broadcast packets are handled in the input/output chains.

    This should handle this kind of problems.

    Hi Gert,

    fine so far. But what when the pptp-pool has to be different from the internal net (we have dhcp for our internal net)? Then I have define also:

    External Broadcast
    192.168.77.255 255.255.255.255 (in my case)
    and the rule
    PPTP-Pool{netbios}External Broadcast Allow

    This works - no interception anymore, but it dosn't help for browsing because neither the internal broadcasts or the externals will find there destination. Maybe dhcp-relaying in such cases will be a clean sulution in the future - but what can I do now?
