Net-to-Net Config

Hi:
Is ASL on both sides mandatory?
Can I have ASL on one side and a Win2k IPSEC setup on the other?
On another note.  Have you tested ASL with any Nexland products?  Just thought I'd ask.

    I was able to succesfully establish a VPN connection from my home where i have a WIN2K IPSec server.  I have also done a ASL to ASL VPN when connecting two of the buildings together here on campus.  As far testing any other software I have not done so.

    Was this a Host-to-Net config from home?
    Have you tried a Net-to-Net?  ie. Do you have multiple PC's at home in behind your Win2K IPSEC gateway?  If so, I'd like to know how you set it up.
    I can get a Host-to-Net config going no problem from home.  It's Net-to-Net I seem to have problems with.  ie. One side ASL and the other Win2K gateway....
    I don't think M$'s mystery L2TP/IPSEC protocol works very well in a Net-to-Net config....am I wrong anybody??
